He is survived by: his wife Nancy Lee Wilson Melton; his sons, Richard (Sharon Melton) of Galax, Virginia and David Melton of Galax, Virginia; his grandchildren, Jessica (Justin Stamper) and Mitchell (Candace Melton); and his great grandchildren, Eli Stamper and Cooper Melton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
