He was predeceased by: his parents, Mack Clarence and Fannie Moser Houk; and his brothers, Donald S. Houk and Robert Lee Houk. He is survived by: his wife Linda Caudle Houk of Galax, Virginia; his daughters, Robin Houk Gillis (David) and Denise Edmonds (Jimmy); his grandchildren, Joseph Adam Houk (Ashley), Emily Miller (Brian), Dustin Edmonds (Ashley), Erin Brooke Rodgers (Austin) and Corbin Jones; his sister Mary Ann; and his siblings-in-law, Tommy Hollingsworth of North Carolina, Zandra Houk, Frances Houk and Jewel (Dean Cornett). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
