He is survived by: his children, John W. (Joyce McKenzie), Mark McKenzie, Joanna McKenzie of Galax, Virginia and Lori McKenzie of Galax, Virginia; his grandchildren, Stephen (Kayla McKenzie), Daniel (Lauren McKenzie), Matthew (Jenny McKenzie), Cory (Jennifer McKenzie), Andrea (Adam Smith), Brianna Lineberry, Hannah (Devin Boyer), Megan (Lacy Johnson) and Mariah (Colin Kenny); and his pet Emmy. He is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren.
