He was predeceased by: his children, Terri Gwynn, Ricky Gwynn and Randy Gwynn; and his siblings, Mary Haynes, Earnestine Boyd, Martha McMillian, Virginia Allen, Elsie Gwynn and Josah Gwynn.
He is survived by: his stepdaughter Marie Hawks of Cana, Virignia; his brother Jonah; and his sister-in-law Alma Gwynn of Mt. Airy. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
