He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Glen and Daisy Burnett Hensdell; and his siblings, Hazel Brown, Joyce Lineberry and Donald Hensdell.

He is survived by: his siblings, Mary Lawless of Johnson City, Tennessee and James Hensdell of Galax, Virginia; and his nieces and nephews, Erin Akers, Paula Youngblood, Jack Banks, Jeff Banks, Robbie Hensdell, Joseph Brown, Jason Brown and Charles Hensdell.
