He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Hatfield and Edna Tanner Hatfield; and his sister Sandy Bedics. He is survived by: his wife Bobbie Smith Hatfield of Galax, Virginia; his daughter Karen Hatfield; his son-in-law Randy Phelps of Pinnacle; his daughter April Kegley Acquaviva (Doug Osborne) of Galax, Virginia; his brothers, Richard "Dick" Hatfield of Galax, David Hatfield of Florida and Herb Hatfield of West Virginia; and his grandson Tyler James Acquaviva. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
