He is survived by: his wife Janet Patton Hackler of Galax, Virginia; his daughter Kim; his son-in-law Jay Phipps of Independence, Virginia; his grandchildren, Megan Phipps and Brett (McKenna Phipps); his great grandchild Jaylee Kyle; his sister Phyllis; and his siblings-in-law, David Wright and Judy Hackler of Galax, Virginia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
