He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel R. Melton and Lillie Robinson Melton. He is survived by: his children, Joyce Melton Goad of Draper, Dennis Lee Melton, Jr., Linda of Georgia and Alice Sawyers of Dugspur; and his sisters, Mary Ann Melton of Woodlawn and Lula Amstutz of Galax. He is also survived by two grandchildren; and two nieces and one nephew.
