He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruben Paul and Thelma Harris Funk; and his daughter Melissa Funk. He is survived by: his wife Glenda Christman Funk; his daughters, Mary Newman of Galax, Virginia and Kim Iroler of Galax, Virginia; his siblings, Karen Sue of Florida, Alecia (Richard Alpaught) and Larry Funk of Connecticut; and his grandchildren, Freedom Leath (David) and Summer Brewer Hedi Rodriguez (Jamie). He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
