He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel O. Butler, Sr. and Eulalah M. Butler; his wife Giva E. Butler; and his brother Lester Butler. He is survived by: his brother Marvin M. Butler (Edna N. Butler) of Franklin; his nephew Ronald Butler; his great-nephews, Kindall and Cole Butler of Franklin; and his friend Evelyne G. Vaughan.
