It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard F Schmidt of Franklin, Virginia, born in Canton, Ohio, who passed away on September 6, 2020, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Edwin Christian Schmidt and Adele Rachert Schmidt; his wife Donna Jean "Jeannie" Schmidt; his children, Ingrid Schmidt (Adam Stone) of Annapolis, MD and Richard F. Schmidt, Jr. (Catherine) of Painter, VA; his brother Edwin John Schmidt (Elyce); and his grandsons, Jacob Hart Stone and Isaac "Zak" Stone.
