She was predeceased by: her parents, Duncan Cornelius Jernigan and Mary Elizabeth Dupree Jernigan; and her siblings, Irene Craig, Dunk, George, Frank, Gene and Phillip Jernigan.
She is survived by: her daughters, Susan Williams (Craig), Cathy Burgess (Stan), Julie Smiley (Chris) and Cindy Panikowski (Justin); her sister Elizabeth Knipper; her grandchildren, Ryan Burgess (Lauren), Olivia Willliams, Zach Burgess, Danielle Minguez (Aaron), Adam Williams (Jami), Rachel Bamba (Justin), Joshua Smiley, Brielle Panikowski and Gunnar Panikowski; and her great grandchildren, Brianna Hardy, Serenity Hardy, Brayden Hardy and Easton Burgess. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Burial will follow in Poplar Spring Cemetery off of Homestead Rd. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Kingdom Impact Building Fund and would like to express a special thanks to the staff at Medi Hospice, especially Kendra and Deborah, who showed her compassion and love throughout her final days.
