He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert Marlin and Oline Karnes Marlin; his wife Helen King Marlin; his children, Dawn Marlin Worrell of Franklin, Dianna Marlin Whitehurst (Buddy) of Franklin and Dale Edward Marlin, II (Sherre) of Franklin; his siblings, Joyce Forgarty of Madison, TN, Bud Marlin of Murfreesboro, TN and Don Marlin of Shepherdsville, KY; his grandchildren, Randy Bradshaw Worrell, Jr., Lindsay Worrell Speight, Colby Lauren Worrell, Hunter Jeff Eggleston and Mackenzie Brooke Marlin; and his great grandchild Parker Speight.
