She was predeceased by: her parents, John Edward Herndon, Sr. and Eva Boswell Herndon; and her nephew Mark Redd. She is survived by: her siblings, Mae H. Redd and Eddie Herndon (Donna); her nieces, Anita Redd and Liz Herndon; her nephew Lee Herndon; and her great-nephew Aubrey Herndon. She is also survived by her brother, sister, and nieces and nephews.
