Evelyn Palmore Nicholas Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evelyn Palmore Nicholas of Dillwyn, Virginia, born in Howardsville, Virginia, who passed away on February 17, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Dabney Palmore, Sr. and Rosa Ballowe Palmore Duncan; her husbands, Robert Harold Snoddy, Sr. and Alexander "Kayo" McGhee Nicholas; her children, Robert Harold Snoddy, Jr. and Judy Snoddy Lightner; and her siblings, Mildred Palmore Ragland, Ernest Dabney "Junior" Palmore, Frederick Lewis Palmore, Sr. and Everett Tilden "Buddy" Palmore.
She is survived by: her children, Mattie Snoddy Land (Ray), David Palmore Snoddy (Cindy) and Dean Lewis Snoddy (Debbie); and her son-in-law Doug Lightner of Dillwyn. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 6 great, great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
