He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee Phillips, Sr. and Fannie Dowell Phillips; his former wife Cora Riley Phillips; his son Terry Phillips; and his siblings, Bill Martin, Arlene Shumate, Gerlene Rosenbaum and Laura Umbarger.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Widener Phillips; his children, Tina Widener and Ronnie Phillips; and his stepchildren, Paul Odum (Anita), Mark Odum (Becky), Larry Odum (Missy Bellamy) and Debbie Odum (Shane Allen). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Damascus Senior Citizens, 209 Legion St., Damascus, VA 24236.
