He is survived by: his son Josh Hayes of Walterboro, SC; his grandchildren, Lillian Grace Hayes, Izabella Jade Hayes and Sean Michael Hayes; and his siblings, Lee Hawkins of Charlottesville, VA and Ben Hayes (Wanda) of Konnarock, VA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
