She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Andrew McDaniel and Doris Ann McDaniel (Farmer); and her brother Marty Johnson. She is survived by: her husband Barry Eller; her sons, Lonnie Thomas Shumate of Chilhowie, VA, Stephen Lee Shumate of Chilhowie, VA and Lewis Carlo Shumate of Konnarock, VA; her brother John McDaniel; and her grandsons, Eric Shumate and Kevin Shumate. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
