He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Bishop and Mary Ellen Eggers Widener; and his nieces, Patsy Widener Rice (David) and Amy Rice. He is survived by: his brother Joe (Mary Widener); his nieces, Valorie Widener, Rhonda Cardwell (Kent) and Heather McCarthy (Michael); his nephew Maurice "Reecie" Widener (Patricia); and his great-nieces, Brandy, Tabitha, Lydia, Amy Faith Cardwell, Abigail and Aubrey McCarthy.
