He was predeceased by: his mother Christine D. Akers (Burke). He is survived by: his wife Tanya Akers (Wojciechowski); his children, Brian Mullins, Stephanie Boyd (Derrick), Stacy Millar (Shep), Tyler Marcum (Amanda), James Akers (Maegan), Shannon Collins (Josh) and Breana McManamy (Zach); his father JC Akers; and his sister Joetta Whitehurst. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren.
