It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Josephine Elizabeth Hurdle (Chincoteague Island, Virginia), born in Indian Head, Maryland, who passed away on January 15, 2019, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Robert R. Hurdle; her daughter Rebecca Raven (Howard); and her son-in-law David Castle. She is survived by: her children, Austin Smith (Teresa) of Chincoteague Island, VA and Jane E. Castle of Delmar, MD; her grandchildren, Paul White, Beth Kaminski (John) and Jackie Tucker (Josh) of Gloucester, VA; and also, Patrick Smith (Olha) of Salisbury, MD, Jon Smith (Maria) of Chincoteague Island, VA, Robert Tabor (Annie) of Norfolk, VA, Jason Raven (Soraya) and Jeremiah Raven. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
