She was predeceased by: her parents, William Potts and Viola Potts (Melvin); her husband Paul B. Merritt; her son Greg Merritt; and her siblings, Ruby Hall, Lloyd and Everett Potts.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Crystal Fisher, Tammy Mitchell of Chincoteague Island, VA, Drew Merritt (Callie) of Greenbackville, VA and Mark Merritt of Chincoteague Island, VA; her great grandchildren, Zack Fisher of Chincoteague Island, VA, Maddox and Andrew Merritt of Greenbackville, VA; and her sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Merritt of Chincoteague Island, VA and Betsy Potts of Chincoteague Island, VA. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
