He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Mason and Margaret Cathell Mason of Virginia; his former wife Dale Mason; his son Gary Cooper Mason, Jr.; and his sister-in-law Barbara Jean Mason.
He is survived by: his wife Paula Mason; his children, Lisa Julio (Chuck), Loretta Mason, Billy Reed, Jr. (Lisa), Aaron Quillen (Alicia) and Chris Quillen (Tara); his brother Tyrone Mason; and his grandchildren, Troy Mason (Chantelle), Mason Karafa, Megan Joseph (Jorshe), Rachel Harley (Matt), Rebekah Leonard (Hunter), Billy Reed, III, Cameron Mason and Logan Richardson.
