It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Francis Lee Emory of Chincoteague Island, Virginia, born in Washington, District of Columbia, who passed away on October 28, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Laveta Cumberland Emory; his brothers, Paul Winters and Arthur J. Emory; his great grandchild Mia Christine Grasso; and his parents, Catherine Moran Emory and Arthur Roberts Emory.
He is survived by: his children, Catherine Grasso (Frank), Francis Emory (Holly), Craig Emory (Theresa), Mary Bentley, Patricia Mahdavi (Tony), Mark Emory (Patty), Laveta Duke (Kevin) and Paula Cassidy (Kenny). He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 4200 Harewood Road, NE, Washington, DC 20017, where Francis served as a paper boy in his youth.
