She was predeceased by: her husband Samuel E. Kanary, Sr.; and her sister Blanche B. Tyler. She is survived by: her children, Carolyn D. Taylor (Jeffery), Deborah H. Wright (Paul), Lisa G. Williams (Greg) and Samuel E. Kanary Jr.; her grandchildren, Richard C. Trent III, Christopher B. Taylor, Clarence G. Wright, Jordyn Williams and Rayna Williams; her great grandchildren, Andrew L. Hagan and Nora Paige Wright; and her sister Dorothy Castle.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association.
