He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Dominy and Mildred Dominy (Bosold); and his parents-in-law, James and Lois Meiner (Warden). He is survived by: his wife Margaret; his siblings, Anne Taschetta of Ames, IA, Mark Dominy (Margie) of Larchwood, IA, David Dominy (Theresa) of Estherville, IA, Rosemary Crawford (Kent) of Maquoketa, IA, Rebecca Dominy of Richmond, CA, Julie Endres (David) and Patricia Lehmkuhl (Michael) of Dubuque, IA.; and also, David Meiner of Dallas, TX and Claire Jacobson (Meiner) of Washington, DC.. He is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews, along with their spouses, and 23 great nieces and nephews.
