She was predeceased by: her parents, Edmond Lee and Blanche Doggette Harper; her husband Willie L. Carter; her children, Patsy Lyons, Carolyn Davis, Rev. Willie J. Carter, Edmond Carter and Dennis Carter; and her grandchildren, Gracie Lyons and James Davis, Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Calvin Carter of Chase City, VA and Linda C. Tucker (Donnie) of Chase City, VA. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren, two sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law.
