He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Shortridge and Watie Blankenship Shortridge; and his siblings, Geneva Shepard, Opal Rowe, Emory Shortridge, Mike Shortridge and Harley Shortridge.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Fleming Shortridge; his son Brian F. Shortridge of Buchanan County, Virginia; his siblings, Robert Shortridge (Mildred) of Abingdon, Ralph Shortridge (Sue) of Rowe, Virginia, Don Shortridge of Rowe, Virginia and Dean Harris of Rowe, Virginia; and his close friends, Bill Richardson, Chuck Phipps and Debbie Cordle. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ms. Teresa's Children's Programs at The Buchanan County Public Library, 1185 Poe Town Street, Grundy, Virginia 24614.
