With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ethel McClanahan of Buchanan, Virginia, born in Paynesville, West Virginia, who passed away on March 27, 2023 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lonzo Keen and Mary Stacy Keen; her husband James Arvil McClanahan; her children, Peggy Sue McClanahan, Christopher James McClanahan and Elizabeth Ann Taylor; her son-in-law Paul Turner; her siblings, Dora Keen, Leonard Keen (Marie Hogston), Deane Dawson (Flora McCoy) and Robert Keen; and her grandson Wesley Ryan Taylor.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Sarah Jane Turner, Katrina Michelle Taylor, Buddy Lester, James Lester, Beverly Lester, Michael McClanahan, Veronica McClanahan, MyCala McClanahan and Donald McClanahan. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other family members.
