She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Smith and Dollie Smith (Hess); her husband Jennings Yates; and her siblings, Bill Smith, Ernest Smith, Carson Smith, Nancy Ramey, Gay Jackson, Molly Smith, Shirley Hopson and Peggy Hopson.
She is survived by: her children, Rebecca Childress (Scott) of Georgetown, KY and Jennings David Yates; her siblings, Pauline Cash (Roger) of Afton, VA, Clarence Smith Jr. (Irene) of Bristol, VA, Ralph Smith (Katie) of Rural Retreat, VA and Woodrow Smith (Gail) of Raven, VA; and her sister-in-law Rebal Keen (Renee Childress). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
