He was predeceased by: his parents, John Custer and Blanche Runion Custer; and his siblings, Nancy Lineweaver, Betty Black and Johnnie "Beans" Custer.
He is survived by: his sons, Jonathan Custer (Trish) of Elkton and Richard Tusing (Crisy) of Fulks Run; his grandchildren, Gracelyn Tusing and Jeremiah Mitchell; and his brothers, Jimmy "Pete" Custer of Broadway, Freddie "Dave" Custer of Broadway, Jack Custer of Broadway, Teddy Custer of Broadway and Charlie Custer of Broadway. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
