He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathan Bernthal and Amelia Bernthal; and his son Michael Bernthal. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy of Broadway; his stepchildren, Kathy Halterman (Harold) of Rockingham, Keith Elliott of Harrisonburg, Arnold Farbstein of Houston, TX and Sam Berne of Santa Fe, NM; and his stepgrandchildren, Sam Halterman and Kristy Halterman. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
