With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sara Lyon of Blacksburg, Virginia, born in Jacksonville, Florida, who passed away on May 11, 2023 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Sara Carter and Charleston Carter. She is survived by: her husband Frank Lyon; her pets, Tucker and Shadow; her sons, Mike Mims of Pembroke and Chris Mims; her grandchildren, Keegan, Tyler and Caroline Mims of Barren Springs; her daughter Christina Gardner of Blacksburg; her stepchildren, Katherine Luft of Bagota, TN and Frank Lyon, Jr. of Socastee, SC.; her siblings, Kathy Johnson (Terry), Joe Carter (Sandy) of Florence, SC. and Bobby Carter (Kay) of Florence, SC.; and her nieces, Sally and Holly.
Memorials may be made to Christian Appalachian Project or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
