It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Jeffries Miles of Blacksburg, Virginia, born in Norfolk, Virginia, who passed away on July 14, 2022, at the age of 102, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Hugh S. Miles, Jr.; and her brother John L. Jeffries, III. She is survived by: her sons, Hugh Smith Miles, III (Judy) of Richmond, John Jeffries Miles (Carolyn) of Alexandria and William Murrell Miles, MD (Kathy) of Gainesville, Florida.; her grandchildren, Suzanne Pate, Anna Benetiz, William Miles, Mary Helen Beydler, Henry Thomas Miles, Sally Lacy and Elizabeth Brown; her sisters, Margaret Jeffries Jones and Nancy Jeffries Bischoff; and her sister-in-law Jean Perkinson Miles. She is also survived by sixteen great grandchildren.
