She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Alphonzo Lafon and Bessie Smith Lafon; her husband Charles Benjamin Reed, Jr.; her daughter Lynda Martin; her brother Warren Lafon; her grandson Bobby Miller; and her great great grandchild Sophia Long.
She is survived by: her siblings, Kenneth Lafon and Thelma Mayhew; her sons, Charles B. "Benny" Reed, III (Peggy) and Jerry A. Reed; her grandchildren, Mary Swedberg, Stephanie Moir (Barry) and Nicholas Reed; and her great grandchildren, Ashley Jones (Robert), Amber Dudding, Holli Stewart (Joshua), Heidi Moir and David Matthew Dudding.
