He was predeceased by: his parents, Mallie Benton Ray, Sr. and Mary Lou Patterson Ray; and his siblings, Nancy Lou Sumner, Jim Ray and Ben Ray.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Jean Horsley Ray; his siblings, Mary Elizabeth Cannaday, Don Ray, Bill Ray (Betty Jo) and Wayne Ray (Susan); his siblings-in-law, Karen Horsley and Paul Horsley (Jackie); and his great-nephew Matthew Wiggington (Ria).
