He was predeceased by: his parents, James Irvin Seay Sr. and Cora Holt Seay; his wife Edna Boyd Seay; and his siblings, Mildred Ramsey, Blanche Dudley, Talmadge Seay, Elmer Seay and Herman Seay.
He is survived by: his children, Rhonda Dee Seay, Sherry Seay Taylor (John) and Ronnie Lane Thompson; his grandchildren, Ian Taylor, Tammy Thompson and Chris Thompson; his siblings, Ira J. Seay, Marvin "States" Seay and Alice Brown; his sister-in-law Lillian LaPrade; and his caregivers, Mary Edmonds, Frances Spencer and Angela East. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
