It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Houston Cornell Saunders of Bassett, Virginia, born in Martinsville, Virginia, who passed away on December 24, 2020, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Eugene Moses Saunders; and his brothers, Carl Saunders, Bernard Saunders and James Saunders. He is survived by: his mother Susie Wade Saunders; his siblings, Bobby Saunders, Jeff Saunders, Sharon Morton (Terry), Muriell Spencer (Johnnie), Kimberly Turner (Otis) and Angela Zigler; and his sisters-in-law, Barbara Saunders and Angelica Saunders. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Due to the governor's requirements for Covid-19, a face covering is required and social distancing is to be observed.
