With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gennell Williams of Bassett, Virginia, who passed away on September 12, 2022 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her father John P. Williams; her son Delano R. Tatum; and her siblings, John A. "Buck" Williams, Jimmy Lee Williams, Robert "Bob" Williams, Mary Fern Baldwin, Tecora Quesinberry, Bernice Shaffer, Juanita "Betty" Rogers and India "Dot" Haynes.

She is survived by: her brothers, Frank D. Williams of Sparta, NC and Joel P. "Pat" Williams of Elkin, NC; her nephews, Johnny Williams and Lee Fain; and her close friends, Janet and Kim. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

I would go every morning to set with her and just watch her kittens play in the yard. I sure miss her voice and laughter. She was a wonderful woman. She may be gone but she will never be forgotten.”
