He was predeceased by: his parents, Julia Dabney Tinsley and Leslie E. Toliver; his parent-in-law Hardy Tinsley Sr.; and his siblings, Stacy Allen and Craig Tinsley.
He is survived by: his wife Gladys Dabney; his children, Lester Tyler (Tracy), Emmett Wilkerson (Cheryl), Gary Wilkerson (Candace), Sherri Trueheart, Andrea Wilkerson and Ava (Derek) of Washington; his siblings, Florence White (Claude), Vonda Mason (Franklin) and Hardy Tinsley Jr. (Crystal); his brothers-in-law, Lewis Pollard (Jane), Samuel Pollard (Sherry Lynn) and Harvey Pollard (Beverly); and his sister Caronisa Sims. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins.
