With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James R. Jeter Jr. of Ashland, Virginia, who passed away on April 5, 2023 at the age of 84. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James R. Jeter Jr. to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James R., Sr. and Hazel Jeter; his daughter Kimberly Jeter Mitchell; and his sisters, Dorothy Cheatham and Jesse Thomas.

He is survived by: his wife Denise Jeter; his children, Denise Jeter, Shelby Jeter, Jade Jeter-Hailey (Jessie) and James Jeter III (Carolyn); and his sisters, Mary Jeter of Virginia and Mildred Jeter Watson. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association (act.alz.org).
