She was predeceased by: her parents, James Poindexter (Jimmy) and Ellen Elizabeth Poindexter (Queen); her siblings, Roy F. Poindexter, Ralph L. Poindexter, Everett Poindexter (Wills) and Betty P. Hopkins; and her sister-in-law Marion Poindexter.
She is survived by: her husband Alvin A. Adams; her children, Donna Collier (Chris), Dennis Adams (Paula) and Jerry Adams (Patty); her grandchildren, Christine Johnson (Luke), Bradley Collier (Sierra) and Gracie Adams; her great grandchild Jaxon Johnson; her siblings, Genie Poindexter (Clara), Stuart Poindexter (Nancy) and Linda Seay (Duck); and her siblings-in-law, Ann Poindexter and David Hopkins. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
