It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ellis Harris Claiborne of Ashland, Virginia, who passed away on January 12, 2024, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Roberta Beatrice Claiborne (Winston) and Ellis Claiborne; his brother George Claiborne; and his daughter Sherre Burton. He is survived by: his children, Rachelle Straus, Corey Straus and Lamont Straus; his siblings, France Claiborne, Joyce Streater, Derbria Morris, Clarence Claiborne (Sena) and Alvin Claiborne; his grandchildren, Rashawn Straus, Jasmine Watkins, Elijah Hammett, Zachery Banks, Cortez Banks and Blake Straus; and his great grandchildren, Lailah Straus, Cody Straus and Chase Tinker. He is also survived by Nieces, nephews (great and great-greats), cousins.
