He was predeceased by: his parents, James Moss Carter and Alpha Thomas Carter; and his siblings, James Carter, Harold Carter and Viola Carter.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Robertson Carter; his children, Lisa Carter and Michael Carter (Rebecca); his granddaughters, Cora Carter Moerner, Grace Moerner and Virginia Carter; and his sisters-in-law, Margaret Banton, Shirley Kimbro and Janie Carter. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
