It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Burnice Adkins of Appomattox, Virginia, who passed away on October 28, 2022, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence Parker and Ocie Adkins; his sisters, Verna Adkins Walden Cottrell and Bernelle Adkins Moon; and his stepsons, Donald Wayne Sligh and Kenny Sligh.
He is survived by: his wife Vivian L. Adkins; his daughter Karen Adkins Russell (Bud); his stepchildren, Leonard R. Sligh (Leslie) and Brenda S. Burnstein (Paul); his grandchildren, Robert "Trey" Russell, III (Hannah), Lynette Russell (Charlie) and Ryleigh Russell (Kris); and his great grandchild Parker May Russell. He is also survived by numerous step grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
