He was loved and cherished by many people including: his grandfather Robert Johnson Sumsion; his parents, Glen W. Sumsion and Clara Johnson; his wife Naomi; his children, Sue Davis (Sheldon), Bill (Lynette) and Bob (Rochelle); his brother Richard (LaPrele); his daughter Ann; and his brother Owen. He was also cherished by Thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
