He was predeceased by: his parents, Phyllis Beavers Shively and Alan Shively. He is survived by: his wife Ann; his children, Jeff Shively (Linsey), Sheri Meyers (Jay), Dori Pye, Lori Pye (Jacqui) and Jim Pye; and his brother Jeff Alexander. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

“I am just hearing of Dr Shively’s passing. I really admired him as a professor and an individual. I had other instructors for anatomy but my run in’s with him at the lab were always professional and courteous. He always went out of his way to help better explain and teach the students. I ran into him at several sporting events on campus as well and while he didn’t know me well, he was very kind and friendly and we had some great conversations. My condolences on his passing.”
