He is survived by: his brother Gilmer; his sister-in-law Jeanne; his children, Gale Hendry (Nancy), Ginger Silvers (Tom) and Gar Hendry (Nadine); his grandchildren, Sunny (Eric), Amy (Matt), Janie, David, Lisa (Jake), Annette (Lucky) and Nash; and his pet Skipper. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
