Kim Smith Obituary

He was predeceased by: his parents, Asahel Henry Smith, Jr. and Marla Mangum Smith Ewart; and his brothers, Scott Smith and Karl Smith. He is survived by: his children, Kim and Julie; his wife Julie Elaine Brown; his children, Kristina Buskirk (Kevin), Elise Caffee (Dan), Scott Smith (Cat Peers) and Jessica Thomander (Ben); his grandchildren, Emerson, Andrew, Madeline, Waverly, Caitlin, Olivia, Ryan, Scout, Lauren, Jude, Annabelle, Rae, Zaiden, Cooper and Oliver; his brothers, Richard Smith (Heidi), Raymond Smith (Vickie), Fred Smith (Catherine) and Gregg Ewart (Justin Horlyk); his sister-in-law Wendy Smith; and his mother-in-law Marie Brown. He is also survived by many cousins, in-laws, and nieces and nephews.
Kim was also honored with the Marriott Award for outstanding contributions to school spirit and the BYU Finance Society's Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award. After retiring early and relocating to Provo, Utah in 2007, because of his Parkinson's diagnosis, Kim was called to be bishop of the Meadow Wood Ward.
