He was predeceased by: his parents, Blanche Armstrong and Philip Stephen Heilbut; his sisters, Marjorie Kramer, Dororthy Telford, Virginia Riggs and Marion Lignell; his daughter Sherrie Summers; his wife Pearl Heilbut; his son Craig Heilbut; his granddaughter Whitney Jensen; and his great grandchildren, Parker Bowen and Easton Whipple.

He is survived by: his son-in-law Carter Summers; and his children, Rick Heilbut (Dorie), Dottie Hutcherson (Chris) and Kelly Heilbut (Dore).
